The Music Department at Dordt College seeks a creative performer and scholar to serve as Dordt College Organist and administrator of the Joan Ringerwole Organ Recital Series. This full-time faculty position will include teaching organ/keyboard lessons, promoting the Dordt College Music Department through regular performances locally, regionally, and nationally, teaching church music courses, and oversee the maintenance of the college organs with other teaching opportunities in ensembles, musicianship, and/or music literature. This position is scheduled to begin August 1, 2019, with the possibility of an earlier start date.
Interested candidates should exhibit a deep commitment to, and ability to teach from, the perspective of the Reformed Christian faith. This position will also include taking the lead in student recruitment and participating in department matters, including curriculum review and development, student advising, administrative duties, program assessment, and committee assignments. An earned doctoral degree in music (D.M.A. or Ph.D.) is preferred. A master’s degree is required. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
