The Music Department at Dordt College seeks a full-time faculty member to serve as Director of Instrumental Ensembles (Concert Band, Campus Community Band, and Chamber Orchestra), supervise student teachers, teach conducting and instrumental music education, and oversee wind, string, and percussion studies, with other possible teaching opportunities in ear training, music literature, and applied lessons. This position is scheduled to begin August 1, 2019, with the possibility of an earlier start date.
Interested candidates should exhibit a deep commitment to, and ability to teach from, the perspective of the Reformed Christian faith. This position will also include taking the lead in student recruitment and participating in department matters, including curriculum review and development, student advising, administrative duties, program assessment, and committee assignments. An earned doctoral degree (D.M.A. or Ph.D.) is preferred. A master’s degree is required. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
