The Dean of Admissions is responsible for the recruitment of new students to the University, and the facilitating of on-campus and off-campus recruiting events. This involves developing an overall strategy for recruiting, hiring, and supervision of Admissions Counselors and support staff, traveling to school campuses to provide students with information about their academic program, develop a budget spending plan and administrate its spending, and creating marketing materials. The Dean shall evaluate the credentials of applicants to the University deciding which students shall be granted admission status.
Provide direction and management to the operation of the Admissions Office by hiring and supervising the work of Admissions Counselors and support staff, along with facilitating all admissions related processes and events.
Establish, organize, administer, and evaluate an effective program of student recruitment in the context of ETBU’s mission and admission policies and standards.
Evaluate the credentials of applicants to the University deciding which students shall be granted admission status.
Work closely with the Marketing and Communication Department to provide quality recruiting pieces that provide accurate information to prospective students.
Adhere to all state, and federal accreditation and college rules and regulations regarding student recruitment.
Develop and submit a comprehensive budget for the work of the Admissions Office. Oversee budgeted expenditures and exercise managerial oversight to ensure the successful implementation of key programs, events, and recruitment initiatives designed to impact enrollment behavior of incoming students.
Provide accurate records and reports to the Vice President for Enrollment & Administrative Affairs.
Develop project timelines and utilize project manager software to plan and track outcomes of assigned key programs of interest and events, design and analyze institutional recruitment data to make decisions to target recruitment efforts for successful enrollment outcomes.
Assist with meeting enrollment, recruitment, and student service objectives of the University.
Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations regarding student recruitment.
Ability to deal effectively with a diverse student body.
Understand and support the mission of ETBU and the Office of Admissions.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations while maintaining ETBU’s mission.
Serve and bring resolution to difficult situations.
Ability to communicate via multiple medias, including written and verbal.
Ability to focus on details and see multiple complex projects through to completion.
Strong computer knowledge: Microsoft Office Programs, and other software as required.
Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of recruiting and/or admissions experience in a four-year university setting; master’s degree preferred.
Must be a Christian who is a member of a local church that holds Jesus Christ to be its Savior and Lord and who holds solely the Holy Bible as sacred Scriptures.
Must be an active member of a local Christian Church.
Familiarity with various computer software. Should possess supervisory, organizational, planning, management, and budgeting skills; good oral and writing skills; should show evidence of some creative instincts.
