Full-time, tenure track-eligible Assistant Professor position in the Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) in the School of Health Sciences, starting September 2019.
Regular nine-month teaching load of 33 quarter credits, teaching courses such as Health Promotion, Motor Learning, Development and Control, Exercise Physiology, Research Methods and Pedagogical Instruction, in addition to supervision of senior research projects and activity courses as needed. Additional responsibilities include advising and committee assignments. Interest in teaching activities courses is also desirable; for example, hiking, backpacking, SCUBA, canoeing, and cycling.
Ph.D. in Health Promotion/Exercise Science/Kinesiology or closely-related field (ABD candidates will be considered). The ideal candidate will have a background that integrates Health Promotion with the Exercise Sciences and will have an active research agenda that fits well within one of the department's specialization areas: Health Promotion, Exercise Science, or Sports Nutrition. Additional attention will be given to candidates that can develop local internship contacts and assist with undergraduate research projects. It is desirable that candidates have either NSCA or ACSM certifications.
The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a multicultural academic community.
