Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan invites applications for a traditional undergraduate position in sports management to begin fall 2019. The position is classified as a full-time tenure-track faculty position with faculty rank and base salary dependent upon educational and professional qualifications and experience. Candidates will be asked to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the sports management program and management program. Course assignments might include Introduction to Sports Management, Sports Marketing and Sales, Sport in Society, Sports Media Relations and Event Management, and/or entry level management courses. Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the candidate’s specialization area, academic advising, student recruitment, external industry relations, and other departmental duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess a relevant advanced degree, give evidence of scholarly potential, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. A Ph.D. or DBA in Sports Management or closely related field is preferred. Individuals with a relevant master's degree and significant professional and academic experience will be considered.
