The Department of Kinesiology is seeking candidates for a possible full-time tenure-track teaching position. Academic rank will be based on degrees and experience. Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) is pleased to announce a full time tenure-track faculty position to develop and lead our Physician Assistant program. We invite strong candidates who have prior experience starting and directing a Physician Assistant program to consider applying for this position, to begin in Spring/Summer 2019.
Qualified applicants should have a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an ARC-PA accredited program. Preference will be given to candidates with a Doctorate (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a related field. Applicants should have at least three year of prior experience teaching in a Physician Assistant program as well as experience as the Program Director of a Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification and holding, or be eligible for, a Physician Assistant licensure in the State of California. Knowledge of program organization, administration, fiscal management, continuous review and analysis, planning, development and participation in accreditation processes will be essential. In addition, candidates should demonstrate experience in innovative incorporation of technology into curriculum design and a sustained scholarly record in research and education.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellent leadership and teaching in a Christian liberal arts context, will display a strong potential for applied scholarship and service in healthcare, and will embrace the mission of Point Loma Nazarene University.
A successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations of the PA program in accordance with the ARC-PA standards. This individual will recruit, supervise, evaluate and manage department faculty and support staff. In addition, the program director will develop curriculum and program, improve and maintain program standards to ensure accreditation compliance.
