Biola University invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics, at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank, to begin August 2019.
Responsibilities and Qualifications. We are seeking a Christian mathematician to join our small and collegial department of three mathematicians (one pure, one applied, and one statistician) and four computer scientists. The requirements are a PhD in math or math education or equivalent, and experience with Secondary Education. Our ideal candidate will be a life-long learner, team player, and servant-leader who is able to teach well. The departmental need is to advise the math majors with a concentration in secondary education and exercise related leadership for that program. The academic load is 12 units per semester of undergraduate courses that could include Classical Geometry, Number Theory/History of Math, Calculus, Statistics, Real Analysis, or Complex Analysis. Opportunities for developing new courses, enhancing programs, directing student research, and faculty development exist. Participation in campus, university, and community service activities is encouraged.
