Trinity Christian College invites applications for a full-time position in the department of Literature and Languages beginning August 2019. Candidates will have expertise in literatures and writing in English, comparative literature, interdisciplinary inquiry, and/or place-based teaching. Specialists in literatures and writing in Spanish or another world language will be considered, as will both junior and senior candidates.
This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty role. Specific teaching assignments will depend on how the candidate's area of expertise intersects with a newly configured Literature and Languages department. Potential curricular areas include literatures and writing in English, comparative literature, interdisciplinary inquiry, and Chicago-based teaching (i.e. building curricular connections with a major metropolitan area). We will also consider specialists in literatures and writing in Spanish and/or other world languages. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, meeting with prospective students, participation in the life of the department, scholarly and professional achievement, and college service.

Trinity Christian College is a four-year liberal arts college located in Palos Heights, Illinois, a suburb twenty miles southwest of Chicago. Since its founding in 1959, Trinity has provided its students with an excellent Christian higher education in the Reformed tradition. The College enrollment in the traditional program is about 1,100 with a vibrant residential program. Ph.D. required, in English, Spanish, or other literature or language field. Previous college level teaching experience is desired.
