About the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT): The MFT program, COAMFTE accredited since 1996, admits an annual incoming cohort of 25-30 students and offers a two-year track, three-year track, Divinity dual degree, and Certificate in Medical Family Therapy. The department is nested in the School of Psychology, Family, & Community (SPFC) which includes the undergraduate psychology, masters and doctoral industrial/organizational psychology, and doctoral clinical psychology (APA accredited) departments. SPFC is committed to an intentional and sustained school-wide effort to hire and support a diverse faculty.
Seattle Pacific University (SPU) invites applications for an 11-month, assistant professor rank, tenure-track faculty member as a core faculty of our COAMFTE accredited Master's Marriage and Family Therapy program. The position will begin September 1, 2019.
The ideal candidate will be characterized by the following:
Mature Christian faith aligned with SPU's Statement of Faith; known as a person of high integrity and a sense of calling to Christian higher education
PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy or in a closely related field
AAMFT Approved Supervisor or Candidate
License eligible in WA as an LMFT
Evidence of effective teaching and scholarship in higher education and/or the ability to meet criteria for tenure and promotion within the school.
Ability to develop and grow a collaborative Research program.
