Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement (VPA), the Senior Director of Advancement (SDA) is responsible for leading in the development of annual fund, leadership, major and planned gifts to the university. Primary Responsibilities:
Working with the Vice president for Advancement, plan, implement and execute the strategic plan for the University’s Advancement Office.
Maintain and develop relationships with alumni, friends, and corporations on an Assigned Donor List.
Cultivate and solicit leadership gifts, major gifts, and planned gifts to the university.
Lead in prospecting and generating grant proposals and fulfilling grant requirements.
Meet annual fundraising and activity goals and objectives.
Lead in managing the annual direct-marketing fundraising program including direct mail, phonathon, crowd-funding and special event fundraising initiatives.
Work with the Vice President for Advancement and AVP for Advancement Services to assist with CRM for the Advancement office.
Collaborate effectively with key university stakeholders in developing fundraising plans for colleges, schools, majors, programs, centers, and institutes, etc.
Research, adopt and implement applicable industry best practices for effective fundraising strategies, programs and initiatives that will advance the university towards stated goals and objectives.
Assist the VPA in all aspects of executing comprehensive and/or targeted fundraising campaigns.
Coordinate and assign work for student workers and interns.
Manage departmental budgets.
Travel (50%) in context of the above responsibilities
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of five years’ experience in a fundraising, sales, direct marketing or in a closely related field.
A bachelor’s degree is required. ? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational ability and must have the ability to think “globally” about all problems or challenges so that decisions are made in concert with the King University Campus vision and needs.
Experience in developing and effectively implementing strategic fundraising, sales or marketing plans and related programs and initiatives.
Highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with staff, administrators, faculty, and alumni.
Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team member, as well as work independently to accomplish goals and reach and exceed established benchmarks.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends and be an effective manager of time.
Working knowledge and experience with fundraising, sales or marketing best practices.
Ability to articulate a personal faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and support the mission of King University.
Possess a valid state driver's license.
Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Higher Education or related field.
Five years in higher education fundraising at a director level or above.
