Description of Duties
North Central University is looking for a full-time Assistant/Associate professor of English. The University seeks to attract active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. Faculty responsibilities include teaching 12 credits per semester (4 classes) of creative writing, literature, and composition courses. Additional responsibilities may include advising the English honors society (Sigma Tau Delta) and overseeing the publication of the literary journal. Faculty members also serve as academic advisors, work collaboratively on departmental and university committees, participate in the spiritual life of the NCU community, and engage regularly in professional development and scholarly activity.
Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.A. in English or closely related field
At least two years of teaching experience
Demonstrated leadership ability
Regular scholarly or creative activity
Ability to teach using effective instructional methodology and pedagogy, including classroom technology
All faculty members (full-time and adjunct) are expected to be committed Christians, model a consistent Spirit-filled life, be considerate of the Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, be a member in good standing of their local church, and abide by the Community Life Standards of the University.
