Anderson University’s Sports Medicine Department invites applications for the 38-week, full-time position as Assistant Director of Sports Medicine/Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Director performs a variety of functions related to the care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries to student-athletes in Anderson University’s Sports Medicine Department. The Assistant Director supports the Director of Sports Medicine in the management of the Anderson University Sports Medicine department.
Assists the Director of Sports Medicine with the operation of the Athletic Training room.
Assists the Director of Sports Medicine with responsibilities such related to Sports Medicine/Athletic Training functions including maintaining paper work on student-athletes; daily maintenance and operation of the training room; supervision of the athletic training room in absence of the Director of Sports Medicine; budget and supply maintenance; and maintenance and periodical checks of equipment and machinery.
Serves on call duty for assigned teams (2 sports team, fall, and spring) and at specified times as directed and attends scheduled team practices and games as assigned by Director of Sports Medicine. Assists Director of Sports Medicine with their sports team and other sports when needed.
Administers treatment and rehabilitation program under the supervision of the Director of Sports Medicine and makes referrals to the appropriate medical personnel as needed.
Attends regular staff or departmental meetings and adheres to the spirit of Anderson University and its philosophy.
Participates/performs special assignments requested by the Director of Sports Medicine and/or Athletic Director.
Performs drug testing at the request of the Director, Athletics.
Develops and maintains good communication and working relationships with coaches, administrators, co-workers, student-athletes, parents, and contacts in the community

Essential Knowledge and Skills
Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE approved Athletic Training curriculum; Master’s degree preferred. Must maintain current State and BOC requirements for licensure to practice. Must maintain current professional CPR standards.
