Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Success, the Director of Career Services & Professional Development is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive career services program for the University. As part of a team focused on holistic student development, the Director of Career Services and Professional Development proactively engages and advises a diverse community of students on career development issues such as use of technology, resume and cover letter writing, professional skills development, job and internship identification and application processes. The Director serves as a liaison between the University, students, alumni, and potential employers. In addition, the Director uses social media, technology and other marketing efforts to increase awareness of an office that serves a diverse student and alumni population. The Director also provides oversight for the Coordinator of Student Employment.
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Business Administration, Student Personnel Services, Counseling or a related field.
A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience working in Higher Education, or in a career development, coaching or counseling setting.
Experience with career management systems (GradLeaders, College Central Network, Handshake, etc) is a plus. Experience using Strengths Finder, MBTI, Holland Code or other career assessments a plus.
Knowledge of college career services and student development theory
Serve as the campus contact and advisor for students, alums, and graduate students seeking career and professional development services including: resumes, mock interviews, networking, job searching, career counseling, graduate school admission.
Offer campus wide, departmental, and class programming including the planning and execution of professional development events, expert panels, job fairs and classroom presentations.
Maintain positive and strong employer relations and facilitation of campus recruitment. Responsible for communicating employment opportunities with students through email, social media, and targeted marketing.
Maintain and approve internships, on campus, and off campus jobs through the career management system, Handshake.
Serve as the Internship Coordinator and teach the Career Internship class each semester on Blackboard. This involves assisting students with the internship process.
Instruct one section of the INT 1100 general education course throughout the fall semester.
Provide oversight for the Coordinator of Student employment and the initiatives of the Office of Student Employment including the iWork program.
Serve as the Trevecca representative for the 13 school member Nashville Area Career Fair Consortium (NACFC). The NACFC meets 4 times a year to plan the annual Nashville Area Career Fair that is held every spring.
Maintain Tennessee Association of College and Employers and National Association of Colleges and Employers memberships.
Develop relationships with the broader Nashville area career resources including the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, YP Nashville and more.
As part of the Center for Student Development, assist staff with department-wide events and activities as necessary.

Terms of Employment
Full-time 12-month position: salary and fringe benefits to be established by the University. Some evening and weekend office hours required to accommodate orientation schedules, special events, and servicing of students.
