Northwest University is seeking an assistant or associate professor and program coordinator of intercultural studies in the College of Ministry. This is a full time faculty position, tenure track. This position will direct the Intercultural Studies major; teach courses in intercultural ministries, missions, para-church compassion ministries, and cultural adaptation; work with the Dean of the College of Ministry in counseling advisees and guiding curriculum development.
Hold graduate degree (doctorate preferred) in the field of Intercultural Ministries (or related field). A doctorate is required to be eligible for tenure.
Exhibit scholarly abilities in theology of ministry, missions, compassion ministries, cultural adaptation, and human behavior.
Have served a minimum of five years’ experience in intercultural ministry under appointment by Assemblies of God World Missions or Assemblies of God US Missions.
Have demonstrated ability to mentor African-American and Hispanic students as well as both female and male ministers-in-training.
Possess a deep, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and to the Spirit-filled life.
Demonstrate significant integration of faith and learning.
Hold ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God or be eligible and willing to seek such.
Show willingness and ability to apply the Christian worldview in course design, instruction, and advising.
Have a commitment to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, our sponsoring Assemblies of God districts and network organizations, and the general constituencies of the University.
Model best instructional practices in the classroom setting.
Have demonstrated ability to prepare students for careers in international ministry and have positive impact on student learning.
Possess professional skill in coaching, modeling, and direct instruction.
Have demonstrated ability and in coordinating student internships.
