Anderson University’s College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a full-time position as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Dean and serve to represent and support the policies of the College of Arts and Sciences in a fashion that provides consistency to its academic programs and services, while providing administrative support to faculty in both the CAS and Honors Program. Responsibilities include assisting current students with registration problems, change of major and advisor assignment for both CAS and Honors; taking minutes of faculty meetings; assisting in the creation of CAS & Honors incoming Freshman schedules; supervising student workers; assisting with graduation ceremonies, convocations, and orientation; and general office duties, such as electronic filing, ordering supplies, preparing monthly summary sheets for HR; and other duties as assigned by the Dean.
The Administrative Assistant must possess strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications and web-based systems. Experience with database applications and a working knowledge of SCT PowerCampus preferred. A strong passion for excellence, a genuine enthusiasm for assisting students within the University environment, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment are required.
Candidates should possess a minimum of an Associate’s degree from an accredited College or University with at least two years of office-related experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, and good organizational skills are required. An understanding of the academic process in reference to grading, roster reconciliation, registration, and the sensitivity and confidentiality of student records is required.
