TITLE: Principal Faculty Member, Assistant Professor (Exempt)

SCOPE: A Principal Faculty Member in the Physician Assistant Program is primarily responsible for course instruction and/or course design in the didactic and clinical phases of the program. A Principal Faculty Instructor will be effective in the areas of course design, course delivery, and evaluation. The Principal Faculty Instructor is instrumental in assisting the program and its students with meeting the program's Student Learning Outcomes. The Principal Faculty Instructor is guided by the Program Director in assisting the program with curriculum assessment and meeting the ARC-PA Standards of Accreditation. Tenure-track faculty position, full-time (12-month) contract, benefits eligible position. Rank and salary will commensurate with experience.
The job is sedentary in nature. Must be able to sit for long periods of time while performing office and computer operations.
This position is a full-time exempt position with teaching load at the Hardin-Simmons University campus and travel required for student evaluation/sponsorship and professional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The incumbent will possess the following required qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Current Licensure in the State of Texas (or eligible for licensure)
Strong interpersonal skills with student and staff populations.
Superior organization, prioritization and self-motivation skills.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
Ability to listen, understand and respond positively to requests.
Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
Prior teaching in a Physician Assistant Program and active, recent clinical practice experience caring for patients.
