Position exists to facilitate the spiritual development of the students as well as fostering a community of discipleship and service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification)
Develop and implement a comprehensive Spiritual Formation program
Oversee all aspects of Chapel services (e., planning, scheduling, hosting speakers, etc)
Develop chapel speaking schedule that incorporates diversity and provides an avenue for students to experience spiritual growth
Supervise Spiritual Formation staff
Work with area churches to coordinate speakers and resources for students
Speak in chapel (once a month) and be able to fill-in for cancelled speakers
Collaborate with Residence Life to equip student leaders spiritually in the residence halls
Provide spiritual guidance to students and refer them to counseling when appropriate
Actively engage in the life of our student body by being present at campus events
Manage the budgets for Spiritual Formation
Chair Spiritual Formation Committee and serve on other committees when appointed
Represent the University at various events such as Preview and Registration Days
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience:
Must affirm and support the doctrinal statement of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
Skill and Ability to:
Strong public speaking skills that connect with 18-22 year olds
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to lead a team and manage team members well
Ability to connect with 18-22 year old college students, one-to-one
Ability to engage with contemporary issues with a theological and Biblical framework
Strong appreciation of and ability to articulate the Wesleyan-Arminian perspective
Ability to guide students in spiritual, doctrinal, theological, and philosophical matters
Must be able to provide a sample of speaking style (video preferred).
