King University seeks a Director of Residence Life. Founded in 1867, King is a Presbyterian-affiliated university with a mission of preparing students in a Christian academic community to excel as thoughtful, resourceful, and responsible citizens with a passion for serving God, the Church, and the world. Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director of Residence Life participates in the accomplishment of King’s mission by supervising the residence life program consisting of two Area Coordinators, 24 Resident Assistants, and four residence halls.
The Director of Residence Life is responsible for the total operation of the Residence Life Department. Functions of the position include: selection and supervision of the staff; strategic planning; budget development; oversight of all department policies, procedures, assessments and practices; development of all departmental forms and informational material; and communication with and assignment of all new and returning residential students. The candidate should have experience in management, planning, program assessment, budget management, and knowledge of student development theory.
The Director of Student Life is a full-time, 12-month employee (FLSA exempt). Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel services, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
