MidAmerica Nazarene University is seeking an Associate Vice President of Traditional Enrollment to join the University’s leadership team; this position reports to the Vice President for Marketing and Enrollment Development. The primary responsibility of the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Enrollment Management is to oversee the traditional enrollment management functions of the University. This will include all admissions functions, retention, and coordination with marketing and financial aid. This professional, in collaboration with University leadership, is responsible for the strategic and tactical implementation of the University’s enrollment management plan. This position works closely and collaboratively with all University constituencies in the development and implementation of policies, practices, and strategies to promote traditional student recruitment and retention.
The AVP for Traditional Enrollment provides leadership and supervision of new traditional student recruiting activities, coordination with financial aid functions including adherence to required policies and procedures, and support of other campus activities that support the enrollment and retention of students. He or she is the chairperson of the University’s Registration and Orientation Operations Group (ROOG) for traditional enrollment.
The AVP is expected to manage the Office of Admissions, including supervision of staff, planning and managing of annual budgets, oversight of the recruitment, admission, and enrollment cycles of the University, and planning and implementation of annual operational plans. This professional will coordinate with the operation and management of the Office of Financial Aid Services enabling that office to operate in a manner consistent with the University’s overall enrollment management plan.
In collaboration with appropriate MidAmerica Nazarene University leaders and staff members, the AVP implements a comprehensive, multi-year enrollment plan, identifies annual enrollment goals for new and continuing students, and implements strategies to meet enrollment goals for new students. Strategies must include registration events and pre-enrollment operations that impact new and continuing students.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, implement, and assess admission, retention, and marketing functions as they pertain to the initial and sustained enrollment of the University’s traditional undergraduate students.
Responsible for achieving enrollment headcount, quality, and net tuition revenue goals related to traditional-age new and returning students.
Professional development, supervision and assessment of the University’s enrollment management staff.
Provide to the larger university community information regarding national, regional, and institutional trends in undergraduate student enrollment.
Strive for positive and collegial public relations with the administration, staff, students, colleagues, the Church of the Nazarene, regional and local church leadership, and community constituents.
Maintain confidentiality in all areas assigned to this position.
Serve as enrollment management professional for undergraduate, traditional-age students, transfer and international students into traditional programs.
Develop, implement, and assess plans for the new, continued, and renewed enrollment of students.
Ensures that the University’s admission, retention, and marketing plans support the strategic goals of the University.
Responsible for ensuring that all professionals within Enrollment Management provide and maintain high quality support services for all constituent audiences to include prospective students, family members, enrolled students and family members, faculty, staff and other MNU community members.
Ensure that Policy and Procedure manuals are current and that all catalog and externally released information related to enrollment is accurate.
Monitor progress to goals within the areas of new student recruitment, net tuition revenue, and continuing student enrollments.
Oversight of all campus based events pertaining to traditional enrollment management
Develop and implement systems that ensure a smooth transition to MNU or in the case of enrolled students ensure a smooth transition from one term of enrollment to the next.
Facilitate training for Enrollment Management professionals.
Serve as the enrollment management professional on Board Committees and other committees as assigned.
Supervises the Director of External Relations, the Director of Retention, and Admissions Counselors.

A master’s degree is preferred.
The AVP of Traditional Enrollment will have demonstrated leadership ability, a proven track record in college recruitment, thorough knowledge of enrollment trends and issues in higher education, and an understanding of financial aid strategies.
An innovative, strategic approach to recruitment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in technological support systems are vital.

Demonstrate effective communication skills, written and verbal.
Willingness and ability to work with various constituent groups.
Ability to review and assess data and to use data to inform decisions.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Ability and experience to effectively utilize required technology tools including CRM.
Possess a successful work history, supported by references, in a work setting similar to the position for which the candidate is applying.
Demonstrate the ability to practice confidentiality with sensitive information.
