Responsible to provide excellence in teaching through the fulfillment of the mission and strategic goals of the School of Business.
Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teach undergraduate courses in Data Analytics such as Business Analysis, Principles of Data Analytics, Data Mining, Big Data Analytics and Visualization, and Business and Economic Forecasting
Teach other courses within the School of Business commensurate with departmental needs and individual expertise
Advise Data Analytics students and other business students as assigned
Attend School of Business meetings on a regular basis
Collaborate with other faculty in curriculum and course development, including course and program assessment, for undergraduate business programs
Assist the School of Business Assistant Dean in developing a program of student recruitment for Data Analytics
Provide supervision of internships for Data Analytics students
Participate in School of Business special events as assigned.

Secondary job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with the ongoing evaluation and development of Business Data Analytics program.
Participate in University student recruiting efforts.
Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Minimum Education and Experience:
MBA or Master’s degree in Data Analytics or related field required; Ph.D. in Data Analytics or related field preferred.
Minimum of three years of successful business experience in data analytics or related methods required.
An active body of professional activities in the area of data analytics preferred.
Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in higher education preferred.
Experience and participation in one or more professional Data Analytics organizations such as IEEE Big Data, Data Science Association, or Digital Analytics Association, or ACM’s Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining preferred.
Experience using the following: Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, MapReduce, Hive, Python Programming, R Programming, Spark, NoSQL and PolyBase preferred.
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement and Declaration of Christian Community.

Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
Ability to integrate Christian worldview into classroom instruction
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous and tactful manner
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills
Ability to type 30 wpm and to efficiently and accurately use the computer to carry out job responsibilities
Ability to effectively integrate technology in the teaching of data analytics Commitment to excellence in teaching and academic advising of undergraduate students
Commitment to the growth and development of School of Business data analytics program
Commitment to collaborating with other School of Business faculty in providing instructional excellence for students
Understanding of and agreement with Northwestern’s Declaration of Christian Community and Doctrinal Statement is essential
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
