Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for a professor of Chemistry with an emphasis in Inorganic Chemistry. The ideal candidate will be able to teach upper level coursework as well as other sub-disciplines and non-majors courses within the chemistry department as needed. The candidate will also be committed to building and sustaining an active program of undergraduate research. Applicants should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, comfort with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitments to liberal learning and the integration of Christian faith in teaching and practice. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in inorganic chemistry and an active, growing Christian faith. A commitment to teaching excellence within a Christ-centered academic community is essential. Rank and compensation are determined by education and experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job responsibilities including teaching chemistry courses to majors and non-majors as well as student mentoring, curriculum development, academic advising and supervision of undergraduate research. The chemistry department at Indiana Wesleyan University has five full-time faculty members, a strong commitment to high qualify, academically-rigorous teaching and a growing emphasis in undergraduate research. The prospective faculty member should be willing to work collaboratively as part of our vibrant School of the Physical and Applied Sciences of 36 full-time faculty.
