DESCRIPTION The Business and Economics Department of Houghton College seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Accounting non-tenure track teaching position. This position involves teaching 21-24 credit hours per academic year, primarily in the field of accounting, with possibility of teaching other business-related courses. A majority of the teaching load will be for undergraduate courses, with potential for graduate level course assignment.
The candidate selected will provide leadership in shaping the department’s growing accounting program, and will supervise the student spring tax practicum. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidate will participate in departmental meetings and activities, contribute to curriculum development, and serve as student academic adviser.
QUALIFICATIONS: A PhD, EdD, or DBA with a concentration in Accounting is preferred. A Masters in Business or Accounting with a current CPA license will be considered.
Important qualities sought in applicants for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, a mature Christian faith, and an ability to integrate Christian faith into teaching. Additionally, a professional work history in the field of accounting is strongly desired.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to academic scholarship and teaching, and the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues.
