The College of Health Professions-Center for Medical Simulations invites applications for a full-time faculty positions. Anderson University recognizes three paths for faculty employment: Annual Appointment, Professional Path, and Tenure-Track. Annual Appointed faculty are hired as Instructors focused on teaching and learning. Faculty hired in the Professional Path focus on teaching, learning and service. After six years of exemplary performance, they become eligible for multi-year contract and may promote through faculty ranks. Tenure-Track faculty focus on teaching and learning, service; and scholarship as well. After six years of exemplary performance, Tenure-Track faculty earn tenure and may promote through faculty ranks. All three paths are evaluated for mission fit.
Position responsibilities: Focus on teaching human anatomical sciences with dissection; Collaborate with faculty to provide educational support for courses utilizing the Human Anatomy Lab; Maintain all equipment while performing and documenting routine inspections to meet certifications; Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling for determining lab utilization and clinical education; Ensure commitment to professional excellence in clinical education and maintains working relationships with internal and external members within the local community.
Requirements: Professional Doctorate degree (MD, DO, Ph. D., DPT, DVM) OR an earned terminal degree in the field of education (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) with a certification in human anatomy; OR a Master’s degree in a health science discipline AND a certification in human anatomy. Preference will be given to candidates with documented teaching experience in anatomy and histology using innovative teaching methods including team-based teaching, interactive large group presentations, interprofessional education and problem-based learning; and teaching experience in both dissection and prosection clinical anatomy courses.
