MAJOR PURPOSE: Responsible to the University President for serving as the senior administrative officer for the University’s development (fund raising) program; administering and managing all development and fundraising, capital campaign(s), alumni affairs, planned gifts, estates, wills and trusts, donor cultivation and media, church, and community relations. This position serves as a member of the University’s Executive Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plans and directs all university development activities 2. Develops and manages a development program including major gift fundraising, capital campaigns, foundation and corporation grants, annual giving, and planned giving. 3. Develops and manages a community relations program, representing the University with external constituencies, legislative members and various governmental entities. 4. Develops and manages a plan to cultivate and maintain relationships and ongoing contact with donors across various giving capacity segments 5. Identifies opportunities and strategies for the general advancement and support of University programs, budgets, and capital projects 6. Supervise and direct receipt of gifts, recognition of gifts, and write and sign monthly receipt letters 7. Assist President in general and development related activities including university wide strategic planning 8. Participates with the University President and executive leadership in planning, policy making and executive leadership of the University. 9. As a member of the Executive Team, this position is expected to help lead and shape the spiritual climate of the University in accordance with the statement of faith, community covenant and chapters, and under the direction of the President. 10. Manages staff of the University Development Office 11. Directs the University external communications program 12. Other duties assigned by the President

• Ten years minimum direct fundraising experience in a non-profit organization (preferably higher education) or equivalent experience, including at least five years of experience in a management /leadership role. • Proven track record as a senior level fundraiser with major donor expertise. • A proven track record of evaluating and growing development programs, implementing creative ways to engage alumni, and establishing strong relationships with corporate and community leaders, government officials, donors, alumni and the advancement community in the interest of gaining knowledge and resources to support the University's mission. • Experience coordinating a range of development efforts, such as: annual giving, capital campaigns, planned gifts, and major gifts;
