The Provost reports to the President and serves as a key member of the administrative team, providing guidance to administrative leaders and academic deans, coordinating with other senior leaders, connecting with all faculty and serving all members of the student body as a model of servant leadership.

The Provost will be an effective academic leader with a strong commitment to teaching and research; evidence of a strong commitment to Belhaven’s mission and values; a mature and visible faith, love for Christ, the authority of Scripture, and value of discipleship; an enthusiastic view about the value of diversity in the enhancement of learning; an ability to function effectively in a university setting; proven managerial and communications skills; and familiarity with contemporary academic issues.
