The Director of Residence Life and Campus Services reports to the Dean of Students in the department of Student Life at Colorado Christian University. The position is responsible for the direction, vision, philosophy formation, and oversight of the residence life program. The Director manages leadership development, housing operations, facility management areas, and campus services. The Director must also be a keen crisis manger with knowledge and experience in discipline, psychological emergencies, and staff support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or Counseling strongly preferred.
Five or more years of experience in Residence Life with increasing responsibility.
Self-starter who is self-motivated and can solve complex problems with little or no supervision.
Demonstrate poise, assess needs, utilize judgment, and develop positive and wise solutions according to University protocol in a variety of crisis situations.
Communicate effectively with students, other staff and faculty, and parents by phone, by e-mail, by memoranda, and in person.
Demonstrate a servant’s heart and teachable spirit.
Follow instructions and work cooperatively with all Residence Life and Student Life staff, while enhancing team dynamics in Residence Life.
Working knowledge of residence hall style living and front desk operations.
Skilled user of technology and systems, including ad hoc systems and Microsoft Office.
