DESCRIPTION: East Texas Baptist University seeks a qualified individual to provide instruction in and coordination of the vocal studies program in the Department of Music. The teaching assignment will include applied voice, vocal diction, vocal pedagogy, and related courses. Additional teaching assignments within the music discipline will be given per the successful candidate’s interest and expertise.
The Vocal Coordinator will assume responsibility for the assigning of voice studios to full-time and part-time voice faculty, ensuring consistent standards across all studios, recruiting, and public relations, and provision of academic advising for music students.
QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is desired. Candidates should have a strong commitment to academic scholarship, an ability to communicate well with students and colleagues, an appreciation for Christian higher education, and a personal relationship with Christ. ETBU faculty members are expected to participate in the life of the University via faculty meetings and workshops as well as by occasionally attending student activities and events.
EDUCATION: Doctorate in music (not specifically vocal performance) is required. Candidates who are currently working towards a terminal degree in music will be considered.
