Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, the Director of Annual Giving is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive, strategic, integrated effort to build the base of individual donors and increase the level of support through annual giving. The Director will manage a year round cultivation and solicitation program that supports all annual fund programs and solicitation efforts, personal leadership annual solicitations, direct mail and electronic solicitations, the senior class gift, and other.
Construct an annual giving program that results in building a successful stream of projectable, predictable unrestricted income for the University, primarily resulting from alumni support, and incorporating the following elements: direct mail, Phonathon, parent giving, friends and stakeholder giving, faculty and staff giving, and student giving.
Create an annual giving program timeline with short, mid, and long range goals.
Works closely with Reunion Classes to recruit volunteers and coordinate mailings and activities for Homecoming and other events.
Assume responsibility and accountability for managing a variety of complex projects associated with the Annual Giving Program.
Construct a set of reports for the annual giving program to show growth, activity, status toward goals and to-date comparisons with prior years for context.
Manage the online giving program in coordination with the Advancement Office
Create, plan, and implement the annual “Give Day”. This includes, but is not limited to, strategy, marketing, managing online portals, setting goals, etc.
Prepare written communications including letters, brochures, and other materials as necessary for all annual giving programs.
Research and incorporate annual giving “best practices” into annual giving strategies.
