Position: Masters of Science in Nursing Program Director (MSN), Open Rank; Full-time Teaching and Administration, Tenure Track
Starting Date: May, 2018
We seek an experienced professional who is committed to nursing excellence and the integration of faith in nursing education. This professor will oversee the Masters of Science in Nursing Program and teach primarily at the graduate level, with the possibility for some undergraduate level teaching. As a full-time faculty member, this person will also serve as adviser to MSN students, serve on program, school, and university committees, and take an active role in community service and scholarship. We are especially interested in one who is experienced in program management and accreditation.
manage and provide leadership for the graduate nursing programs’ two tracks: the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and/or the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Track (AGACNP); a nurse educator-focused program of study is currently under development.
Qualified candidates may also have an opportunity to assume coordinator responsibilities for the AGACNP track.
Strong leadership abilities and nursing program management are essential;
PhD or DNP and teaching experience is required; online teaching experience and facility desirable but not required;
Active, unencumbered, licensure required; advanced practice nursing certification related to either the Family, Adult-Gerontology-Acute Care, or Nurse Educator focus is preferred;
A minimum of three years full time advanced practice/nurse educator experience is required. Five years of clinical practice experience prior to APRN in at least one of the following specialties: medical-surgical nursing, critical care, pediatrics, women’s health, or psychiatric mental health desirable;
High level of competency working among diverse populations and cultures required;
Commitment to Christian faith and the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline is essential.
