Olivet Nazarene University is seeking an outstanding academic leader for the position of Dean ofthe School of Education. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, this position is responsible for the oversight of the School of Education including leadership of the Educational Program Provider (EPP), professional development, support of faculty, and working with our many school partners and stakeholders. The Teacher Education Program has enjoyed a rich history of over 75 years preparing candidates for a life of service. The enrollment consists of over 300 undergraduates and over 1000 graduates taught by many full-time faculty and adjunct faculty members. Olivet Nazarene University was honored by the College Database on its list of Top U.S. Colleges and Universities for Teaching Education. For the 2017-2018 academic year, it is recognized as a College of Distinction.
The Dean of the School of Education must be able to work with the various State (Illinois State Board of Education & Illinois Board of Higher Education), Federal (U. S. Department of Education), and Accreditation agencies. The Dean serves as the public representative of the University in working with these various agencies and is asked to complete yearly reports to each agency.
Olivet Nazarene University is seeking a candidate with exceptional communication skills, proven leadership roles in various educational school settings serving as a School Administrator; possess an earned doctorate degree from an accredited college or university, and a strong commitment to the values and lifestyle of evangelical Christianity.
