Teach the assigned 27 load hours in an academic year.
Design, modify, or revise course content in conjunction with the faculty and MAC Curriculum Committee, as requested.
Serve as Lead Faculty at designated site.
Participate as a member of the MAC Curriculum Committee and attend faculty meetings (both SAU and SHS).
Serve on task forces and/or university committees as requested.
Serve as liaison for faculty or students to the director of the MAC program.
May serve as representative in grievance or harassment proceedings.
Assist in recruitment of faculty and students.
Attend and participate in convocations, orientations, and graduations and commencement events for counseling students as requested.
Participate in CACREP and MDE specific compliance requirements and assist with program outcome effectiveness.
Recommend MAC program policies and procedures that promote program growth, improvement.
Participate in professional and scholarly activities.
Serve as a member of the School of Human Services reporting directly to the Director of Master of Arts in Counseling program.
May supervise graduate assistants/student employees to meet the needs of the counseling program executing the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the university’s policies and applicable laws.
A doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited Counselor Education program is preferred.
The individual must have a current LPC or school counseling license and practical experience in clinical or school counseling.
Experience with teaching at the college level, online, and curriculum development is preferred.

In order to perform this job effectively, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The individual must be able to demonstrate competence in teaching counseling at a graduate level and clinical or school counseling specific clinical practice and program competencies.
A successful teaching record and clinical or school counseling practice experience is imperative.
Graduate Counseling Faculty must maintain an active LPC in Michigan. School counseling license or endorsement would be an additional advantage, current membership in nationally recognized counseling associations such as the American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, and other means of demonstrating a strong counselor identity are also valued.
The individual must possess good interpersonal skills, communication (verbal and written) skills, online computer skills, and the ability to work with diverse faculty, stakeholders, and students.
It is imperative that attention to detail is demonstrated.
