Taylor University is seeking applications and nominations of candidates to teach in the Department of Art, Film and Media with a focus in 3D Design, Sculpture, Ceramics and Metals. This is a tenure-track position beginning August 2017. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
Professional teaching experience expected. Candidates must have an MFA in Sculpture or related field. Extensive experience in the fabrication of designs in clay, wood, metal and stone required. Additional experience teaching printmaking, 2D design, casting and jewelry making is a plus. Candidates must be strongly committed to the University mission of developing servant leaders marked with a passion to minister Christ’s love and truth to a world in need.
Candidate will teach courses in 3D Design, Sculpture, Ceramics and Metals. Additionally, all candidates may provide instruction in various introductory art subject areas. Applicants will be expected to participate in student advising, committee assignments, meetings and other routine faculty responsibilities.
The Art Program at Taylor University, is a dynamic program, continually striving to produce professional caliber artists, designers, photographers, therapists, illustrators, and teachers equipped to impact the 21st century marketplace. The department resides in the 38,000 square foot Modelle Metcalf Visual Arts Center and currently offers 4 programs of study: Art Education, Studio Art, Pre-Art Therapy and Graphic Arts with concentrations in Design, Photography and Illustration. The department enrolls approximately 100 majors and minors. Students have access to state of the art facilities and equipment. Department faculty are practicing artists, sculptors, designers, illustrators or are engaged in significant research.
