The Hardin-Simmons University Art Department is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position in Photography, Video, and Transmedia. The Department is composed of four full-time faculty and 3 adjuncts, offering the BA and BFA degrees in specializations of Painting and Drawing, Graphic Design, 3D (Sculpture/Ceramics), Photography, Printmaking, and Art Education.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach the full range of photography curriculum, from beginning to advanced photography courses. The candidate will also be able to offer courses in video and time-based media and contribute to new curriculum that will potentially create a new major concentration in those areas. The course load is twelve credit hours, or four courses per semester. Professional creative activity and research is expected, as well as service to the university in the form of departmental and committee responsibilities. This is a full-time appointment with benefits. The salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
