Calvin College is seeking an ESL Instructor and Academic Counselor to join the Center for Student Success at Calvin College! The ESL Instructor/Academic Counselor position is responsible for writing instruction to conditionally admitted students and students for whom English is a second language (ESL students), program coordination of academic support to international students, and academic counseling/advising services broadly.
Targeted Start Date: August 2017
a Master's degree (M.A.) in English or related field, experience teaching college writing, and experience working with international students.
Teaching English as a second language, academic counseling experience with academically underprepared students, and graduate course work in rhetoric and composition is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to collaboratively in a team setting and experience using various forms of technology.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Cultural sensitivity with experience teaching students from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
