Hekman Library, serving Calvin Theological Seminary and Calvin College, welcomes applications for a Curator of Archives that will serve the archival research, reference, and resources needs of the students, faculty, and staff of the Christian Reformed Church, North America, seminary and college. Working in a team-focused library the curator works together with other librarians to develop and facilitate the collections of Heritage Hall and the library and to provide instruction equipping library users to confidently access and use historical print and electronic resources.
This position is accountable for the acquisition, organization, maintenance and client use of paper and digital official records and private papers produced by the Calvin College, Calvin Theological Seminary, and Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), its related institutions and persons. The Curator provides reference and research services, delivers research and information literacy instruction, assists with collection development and other library support services as assigned. Advanced degree in archival science or related field
Evidence of competence, initiative, productivity, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly.
Ability to be flexible and work comfortably in a collaborative and complex organizational structure.
Experience in reference, instruction, and collection development.
Proven ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
