MidAmerica Nazarene University seeks a full-time PHP/Drupal Web Developer. This is a full-stack web development position involving both frontend and backend web development, server maintenance, and database administration. The Marketing Office is seeking a PHP/Drupal developer who is a quick learner, good problem-solver and can work independently. Constantly learning new technologies is a prerequisite for this position. Qualified candidates should possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, to be a successful team member working closely with each other and frequently interact with campus clients and external vendors.
Candidates for the above position should possess a commitment to Christian higher education, model servant leadership, and be willing to assume the duties listed in the following general position description.
Maintain the MNU website (www.mnu.edu) and its server environment
Develop new functionality and designs for the website via Drupal modules and themes
Continuously improve website accessibility and quality through SiteImprove
Perform regular updates of both Drupal and the Ubuntu webserver
Full stack web development (host provides a VM, developer is responsible for everything else on top of the VM)
Drupal 8 management, templating, and plugin development
Payment system integration

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in web development, computer science, information technology or related field; equivalent combination of education and work experience is also acceptable. Experience managing web sites, developing features, enhancing existing content and PHP programming is required. Experience with Drupal 8 CMS is desired. Strong scripting/web development background and familiarity with:
PHP 7 (php-fpm configuration)
Third-party APIs (i.e. JSON and AJAX integrations)
Database integration through web interfaces (MySQL)
Custom Linux package compilation
SASS (Flexbox layout, Bootstrap)
Understanding of UI/UX design
Solid understanding of W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 web accessibility regulations
Candidates should have exceptional organizational skills and troubleshooting ability, regardless of specific technical familiarity. Rare but occasional overtime may be required, including responding to technical and content emergencies evenings, on weekends, holidays or in the event of weather emergencies.
