Description: The Teacher Education Department of Toccoa Falls College invites applications for a tenured track position in Education for a position beginning
August 1, 2018. Responsibilities would include using best practices in teaching and learning in undergraduate courses at elementary, middle, and secondary levels for the Teacher Education Department, supervising the clinical experience, and developing collaborative relationships with local schools, as appropriate to coursework or field experiences. This position includes shared responsibility for all phases of the advising, instruction, program development, and evaluation processes.
Skills and Attributes: A commitment to mentoring college students to see that they achieve as successful educators is needed. The knowledge and ability to use technology embed into classroom delivery systems is critical. A willingness to partner with existing faculty in continuing the college’s vision and mission to prepare teacher candidates with the knowledge, skills and character needed to impact their field is required. A personal commitment to the ministry of teaching in a Christian institution and an agreement with the college’s statement of faith and mission and its social guidelines is of utmost importance.
Qualifications: Ph.D., Ed.D., or Master’s degree in Education, an expertise in teaching on the college level with an in-depth understanding of learning for grades PK-12 using content standards or the Georgia equivalent Georgia Standards of Excellence, a working knowledge of using assessment to determine teaching decisions concerning the impact learning has on all students and their development, and a commitment to preparing teacher candidates for diverse classroom populations.Any additional qualifications, including an ESOL Endorsement specialization, Reading Endorsement, research of educational effectiveness are accepted. Experience as a certified teacher educator, teacher or supervisor over other individuals in P-12 school settings is encouraged.
