Master of Social Work Program is seeking applicants for two tenure-track faculty positions to begin Fall 2018.
Rank and salary commensurate with experience. The successful applicants will be expected to teach in at least two of the following areas: Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy, Ethics in Social Work, Research/Statistics, Healthcare/Behavioral Health (may include foundation and/or advanced level courses). A DSW or PhD in social work or related field is required, or an ABD candidate will be considered if completed prior to the start date of employment.
The applicant must demonstrate teaching competencies in both lecture and field courses (undergraduate and graduate levels) that will include the candidate’s specialty area as well as other specific needs in the department. The position also requires that the faculty member be available for advising of students and have a willingness to serve on college committees. Faculty development through scholarship activities is encouraged, and some funding is available through an endowment. The successful applicant will assist with curriculum development, assist with developing and implementing the MSW program, assist with recruitment effort and retention efforts, and assist with program assessment efforts.

MSW degree from CSWE accredited program Must hold a Louisiana social work license (RSW, LMSW, LCSW) and be in good standing OR must be eligible for licensing in the state of Louisiana and obtain this license prior to start of teaching Two years post MSW clinical experience preferred Hold a DSW, PhD in social work or related field OR an ABD candidate would be considered if completed prior to start date of employment Evidence of knowledge or ability in teaching quantitative and/or qualitative research methods as well as mixed methods Record of quality scholarship and ability to effectively teach and guide students through scholarly research projects Expected to engage in research/scholarly/creative activities in social work Expected to teach Foundation and Advanced Year courses in several of the following areas: HBSE, Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy, Research, Ethics, Integrated Healthcare Must reflect a Christian worldview in his or her academic discipline, compatible with the Baptist Faith and Message, and a commitment to continuously integrate Christian values/worldview into all aspects of teaching
