Southern Wesleyan University’s School of Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor-level, tenure-track position in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Family Studies. This position, which will begin August 1, 2018, is primarily online so the successful candidate can work from home, either in-state or out-of-state. The university is actively seeking to increase the number of women and minorities within its faculty.
Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, face-to-face, and at a distance. SWU’s Early Childhood Education undergraduate degree program allows for certification of teacher candidates in grades PreK-2 in the areas of Early Childhood and Elementary Education. The School of Education is also offering undergraduate in early childhood and family studies.
Program development and student recruitment and preparation of national recognition reports.
Scholarship in the discipline through active research and/or publishing in journals.
Servant-leadership through engagement in service activities within the university and the larger community.
Academic. Applicants must hold a terminal degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field (Elementary Education) and have experience in public K-12 education; current K-12 certification is desirable. The candidate should be broadly trained and capable of teaching in an Early Childhood and Elementary certification program.
