Trinity Christian College seeks a Director of Worship Arts. Beginning July 1, 2018 and located in the Chaplain’s Office, this is a half-time position focused on leading and supporting the worship arts at Trinity. A hybrid full-time position is possible with appropriate cognate teaching responsibilities.
Trinity Christian College seeks an experienced, practicing musician who, in a variety of co/curricular settings, will imagine, prepare, and execute engaging, student-focused worship experiences; identify, mentor, and enhance the vocational preparation of student musicians; and advance the lively and theologically integrated practice of the worship arts in our campus-wide chapel services and other worship settings.
A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MA or MDiv preferred. Previous experience planning and leading worship is required.
Trinity particularly welcomes applications from candidates who have professional or personal narratives that reflect diverse perspectives, as well as those who have engagement with issues relevant for preparing students to work and live with intercultural competence and compassion.
The half-time position is focused on designing and leading the communal worship on campus, primarily Chapel. Identifying, training, mentoring, and leading student teams of musicians is essential. Additional responsibilities include leading the Leadership Scholarship in Worship curriculum, supporting the student worship teams for Outcry and Sunday Night Worship, other occasional events, and regular presence in the Chaplain’s Office.
The possible hybrid full-time position would entail all of the above along with teaching responsibilities in a cognate department (e.g., Music, Theology/Ministry, Communication Arts). The typical teaching load would be two courses per semester.
About the Department:
The Chaplain’s Office is staffed by the Chaplain & Dean of Spiritual Formation, the Director of Worship Arts, and several student workers. Reporting directly to the President, the office celebrates and supports the spiritual vitality of the college community through communal worship, pastoral care, co/curricular teaching and mentoring, and student-led small group ministries.
Trinity Christian College seeks candidates that have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ, and a sincere allegiance to the mission of the college.
