Southwest Baptist University invites applications for a twelve-month position of Director of Graduate Education. This position will hold faculty rank as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Graduate Education (contingent on experience and degree held). The candidate selected will be responsible for teaching 6 hours per academic year of graduate courses in the area of their expertise related to the programs in Graduate Education. Candidates must be evangelical Christians who have a commitment to the mission of Southwest Baptist University in both the graduate and undergraduate programs in education and the unique church-related (Southern Baptist) liberal arts approach to higher education. Responsibilities will begin with the Summer or Fall of 2018. The person in this position will be expected to provide a vision for the department, oversee its programs and five full-time faculty and three staff. Additionally, this individual will plan and administer the departments budgets, strategic planning, evaluation of faculty (full-time and adjuncts), coordinate with admissions the recruitment of students into the programs, and manage the program schedules and course rotations. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Education and Social Sciences.
Southwest Baptist University is an institution of higher education, offering courses leading to both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The main campus is located in the city of Bolivar, a community of 10,000 located 23 miles north of Springfield, Missouri.

Earned doctorate is required with preference towards Leadership or an area of specialization which matches the current programs (or can enhance them)
