Description of Position The Assistant Director for Enrollment and Diversity Outreach coordinates diversity outreach, recruitment, and yield initiatives for Undergraduate Admissions, with a focus on enrollment of Latino students. As a member of the traditional undergraduate admissions team, this professional is focused on activities that cultivate relationships to facilitate the development of enrollment pipelines of academically talented and diverse students for NNU. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment, this full-time, exempt position assists in the development of recruitment strategy and coordinates with admissions advisors, assistant directors, and associate directors to provide subject matter expertise regarding recruitment efforts for diverse populations. This professional also serves as Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for NNU and maintains compliance with all federal guidelines related to the enrollment of international students. The Assistant Director serves as an active member of the recruitment team, managing a territory and participating in admissions processes.

Meet international and diverse student enrollment targets as assigned.
Carry out an effective international and diverse student recruitment strategy through high school visits, community college visits, church visits, college fairs and church/guidance counselor events.
Coordinate with leadership to strategically utilize budget resources for appropriate travel, events and vendor relationships to meet enrollment targets.
Works closely with supervisor and other team members to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success.
Serve as the University’s Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) with SEVIS and maintain current knowledge of immigration requirements per US Department of Homeland Security and State Department that pertain to international students.
Responsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators.
Develop and deliver polished presentations in multiple formats in order to market NNU and its programs to a variety of diverse target audiences meeting specific cultural needs.
Counsel prospective students on college choices as well as admissions and financial aid procedures.
Initiate, develop, and maintain professional relationships with prospective students, pastors and counselors.
Manage and maintain assertive phone and email contact with potential and future NNU students.
Collaborate with Marketing to develop international and Hispanic recruiting materials such as letters, email marketing and brochures.
Ensure web and print materials regarding international admission are current and appropriate.
Collaborate with Student Life to ensure a positive new student orientation experience for new international and diverse students.
Other duties as assigned based upon the special qualifications of the individual
Bachelor's degree is required
Fluent in Spanish
All candidates must have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University.
Minimum 3 years related work experience
Sufficient skills, knowledge and training to take full ownership of and responsibility for all essential functions of this position
Valid driver’s license required. Ability to travel independently. Successful candidate must pass background check.
Leadership experience with an understanding of recruiting best practices
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with students, faculty and other constituencies
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms to diverse audiences
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time and extended work hours are required
Must be comfortable with contacting prospects via the telephone
The candidate must demonstrate high motivation and commitment to the University, including the ability to self-start, use deductive reasoning, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines in a deadline-oriented environment, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
Computer skills, including word processing, email and internet applications
Ability to represent the values and spirit of a private Christian liberal arts university to all of its constituencies
Ability to understand and abide by the Statements and Principles of Good Practice of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC)
Ability to work while sitting and/or walking for extended periods of time
Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods

Current knowledge of NNU
Experience in college admissions, sales or marketing
Compensation Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant within a range of $40,000 to $44,000.
