The Fine Arts Division at Missouri Baptist University is now accepting applications for a full-time faculty position in the Communications Department beginning August 2018. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate level communications classes. Additional responsibilities include serving on program, department and university committees, service to the community and scholarly activity.
This candidate must have a Master’s degree and extensive professional experience in digital media, production management and multimedia journalism. Preferred candidates will have an appropriate terminal degree in mass communication or a closely related field.
Experience with video recording techniques and the use of hardware (digital cameras and sound-recording equipment) and software tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, ProTools and other software.).
Experience optimizing for and incorporating projects into web-based contexts.
Previous teaching experience in higher education is required.
Other skills required would include:
Teaching both theory and techniques of audio and video production
Supervising student video projects
Executive producing weekly student news broadcast and coach anchors
Maintaining video and digital archives
Duplicating and distributing recordings
Supervising student internships
Supervising and coordinating the student-staff in live streaming production of Athletics competitions and events.
The Multimedia Production degree is in the Communications Department in the Fine Arts Division at Missouri Baptist University, offering degrees in Communications Studies, Journalism, Public Relations and Speech/Theatre certification.
