Assistant or Associate Professor of International Development
Full Time. Fall 2018. Tenure-track position.
The Global Studies Department at Houghton College invites applications for an assistant or associate professor of International Development starting in August 2018. This is a tenure track position. Academic rank will be determined by previous experience.
Responsibilities: Dedicated to equipping all students for global engagement, Houghton College provides students with opportunities to connect with other cultures. We are seeking a full-time professor to teach a range of courses from the introductory course in the International Development and Intercultural Studies majors to advanced courses in the area of Development, including Social Science Research Methods. Expertise in parallel areas such as political science or international relations is highly desired. The successful candidate will also assist with academic advising of students in the International Development major. Qualifications: Minimum requirements include: a Ph.D. (or professional degree plus experience) in an appropriate field of study with practical experience in the area of International Development highly desired. Other important qualities for this position include a commitment to excellence and creativity in undergraduate teaching, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, a mature Christian faith and an interest in integration of faith and learning.
