The Chief of Campus Police plans, directs, supervises and evaluates all activities of the Erskine College Police Department, including uniform patrol, investigations, critical incident management, education and outreach programs, victim advocate and assistance programs, and parking enforcement. Coordinates compilation of information for reports required by Federal agencies in support of Campus Safety and Security. This position has daily contact with faculty, staff, students, visitors, internal and external vendors, and facilities staff.

Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, the social sciences, or a related field.
Two years experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Experience in a higher education environment, working with residential student populations, and experience managing a diverse work force highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to crime, safety, and fire codes. Must have strong functional computer and software skills to include Microsoft Office Suite products and Oracle as well as law enforcement related software products.
Ability to work in front of a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
Ability to perform all duties assigned to patrol personnel.
Ability to perform large number of duties on foot/bicycle, such as securing of campus facilities. Ability and willingness to work outside in both cold and heat conditions for extended periods of time. Requires individual to work a flexible changing schedule that includes nights, weekends and on-call after hours and short notice as needed.
FBI CJIS Level IV Security Awareness Certified. Must possess or complete upon hire FBI CJIS Level IV Security Awareness Training.
