The Annie Gabriel Library at California Baptist University seeks an innovative, collaborative, service-oriented librarian to manage its library systems in the context of a vibrant and thriving university located in beautiful Southern California. Successful candidates will be able to provide broad support for all aspects of library systems, software and technology, including the integrated library system, authentication system and institutional repository. Primary duties will include configuration, maintenance, upgrades, training and troubleshooting. The Systems Librarian will collaborate with the Digital Services Librarian to facilitate consistent discovery and access to library resources across all platforms and formats, and will act as primary liaison with technology vendors and the campus IT department. The position requires coordinating and executing the library’s long-term technology strategy in support of the library’s overall mission to serve the research and information needs of CBU in a rapidly changing technology landscape. An MLIS or equivalent degree from an ALAaccredited institution is required. This is a full-time, 12-month, faculty position. Required: ALA-accredited graduate degree. Previous experience with library enterprise systems. Demonstrated ability to work with programming languages such as PHP, Perl or Python. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A strong service orientation. Ability to effectively troubleshoot technical problems, isolate causes, and implement solutions.
Preferred: Experience with SirsiDynix Symphony and EZProxy administration and some combination of the following: XML, APIs, web services, linked data, open source software development, content management systems, or other comparable tools. Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging library and information standards such as MARC, OpenURL, RDF, SUSHI and KBART.
