We welcome candidates for a position in the Department of Kinesiology. Gordon College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate professor of kinesiology appointment. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Position to begin August 2017.
We are seeking someone with a Ph.D. or Ed.D., with excellent teaching and research skills who will contribute to the department, the college, and the discipline. Potential responsibilities include teaching courses in principles of strength and conditioning, sport nutrition, exercise testing and prescription, health and wellness and research methods. Additional responsibilities may include internship coordination and supervision. NSCA and/or ACSM certification and programming experience is desirable.
The Kinesiology Department offers outstanding faculty who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, service, and motivated students who are eager to engage in research with their faculty colleagues. The department is housed in the new Ken Olsen Science Center that includes: a bioenergetics laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art isokinetic dynamometry and metabolic assessment equipment; a biomechanics laboratory with two AMTI force plates and 6 Vicon cameras; a neuromotor control lab with a Bertec Functional Balance System and an EMG system.
The department also maintains strong connections with the Gordon College Center for Balance, Mobility and Wellness. The Center provides outpatient physical therapy services for individuals with neurological, vestibular and balance and gait disorders. In addition, the Center provides a membership-based fitness program for individuals 50 years and older. For details on the Center see http://www.gordon.edu/balance.
The Gordon College campus is ideally located in a classic New England town on Boston’s North Shore and includes a 72,000 square foot state of the art athletic and recreation facility, a 30-element high and low ropes course, an indoor rock gym and hundreds of acres of ponds and trails.

Doctorate completed by the time of appointment
Strong commitment to the Christian mission of the college
Collaborative skills that cross-departmental and disciplinary boundaries
A current research program or potential for its development
Commitment to involving undergraduates in research
