The Psychology Department at Simpson University invites applications for one full-time faculty position in psychology (area of expertise open) to begin Fall 2018. The successful candidate should be able to teach general courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, etc.) and upper-level courses in his or her area of expertise. We seek candidates who strive to be master teachers, can develop an active research program that involves undergraduate student researchers, and are committed to professional development. Experience working with under-represented student populations is desired.
A doctorate in psychology is required (will consider ABD). Rank open, dependent on candidate’s qualifications. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective classroom teaching and must be able to articulate an understanding of multiculturalism and demonstrate a successful record of inclusive excellence in education.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a commitment to their Christian faith and be sympathetic with the goals and values of Simpson University. To be considered, candidates must submit a letter of interest, curriculum vita, three references, and a personal essay that includes a statement of faith and discussion of how they integrate Christianity with teaching and psychology.
