The Financial Aid Counselor position is responsible for providing high levels of customer service to students, parents and other key constituents. It is also the role of the Financial Aid Counselor to help students complete the verification process and navigate the financial aid processes.

Counsels and advises students and families regarding all facets of the the financial aid process, including financial aid eligibility for federal and institutional financial aid and the associated application processes.
Maintain a thorough understanding of need analysis and student financial aid eligibility.
Completes review for verification processing.
Awards institutional scholarships and private loans.
Evaluates unusual circumstance documentation or information provided by the student to determine if all documentation has been collected for review by the Associate Director.
Assists in the processing of federal documents for C code resolutions, SAP appeals and scholarship appeals.
Supports all day to day operation of the financial aid office, not limited to the re-awarding of financial aid and necessary data entry.
Attends ongoing training to maintain relevant knowledge of all federal regulatory requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required
3+ years experience in the administration of financial aid, preferably in a private college setting (other relevant experience will be considered).
Experience with Microsoft Office software (especially Excel) and enterprise systems.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
