Huntington University seeks a Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Teacher Education/Education Department Chair. The Teacher Education Program is well established, having continuous NCATE accreditation since 1994. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated, student-centered faculty to move the program forward toward growth and expansion. This full-time, tenure track position (Associate or Full Professor, depending on qualifications) begins Fall 2018.
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in an education-related discipline, a record of successful administrative leadership, and a demonstrated record of distinguished teaching, service, and professional experience in the field of education.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A record of excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship in a college or university
Understanding of current trends in educator preparation
Experience working with national accreditation (CAEP)
Experience working with an educator preparation program
Experience working in a faith-based institution
A demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders
Experience with academic leadership roles such as budget management, faculty hiring, scheduling, and academic advising
